Alice in Oil Town

July 30, 2011

SPRING 2011 PRODUCTION

Eureka! In July 2011, the Lambton Young Theatre Players brought Alice back to Oil Town!

Inspired by the much loved children’s classics, Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass, ALICE IN OIL TOWN is a delightful romp that incorporates many of the well-known Alice characters with historical figures and events associated with the Oil Heritage of Lambton County. The Mad Hatter becomes a crazy oil driller, The Queen of Hearts is now the Queen of Derricks, and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum will set you up with everything you need to start pumping oil - rubber gloves included.

“We’re having a great time rehearsing ALICE IN OIL TOWN,” says Writer and Director, Nancy Keys. “The kids are having a ton of fun with the crazy, colourful characters they get to play, and they’re really enjoying the challenges of physical comedy. The show is fast-paced, funny and very entertaining! This ALICE IN OIL TOWN is thirty minutes in length, and suitable for all ages.”

Starring in ALICE IN OIL TOWN are: Avery Brzbobhaty, Sara Cecile, Evan Campbell, Jonam Campbell, Lily Cardiff, Alyson Jagt, Kyle Phibbs, William Plunkett, Holly Redick, Sabrina Redick, and Kelly Wilks.

"We’re also very excited to announce that TVCOGECO is coming down to tape ALICE IN OIL TOWN,” says Keys. “So if you miss seeing it on stage, can you watch it on television instead. The air dates haven’t been set yet, but we’ll let everyone know as soon as we do."
